ESTHER MISKELL Esther Marie O'Brien Buscemi Miskell, 90, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Mesa View Regional Hospital. She was born March 13, 1923 in Chicago to Edward O'Brien and Gladys Irwin. Esther was first married to Joseph Buscemi in 1939 and is survived by 3 sons of that marriage, Dominic of Spring Hill, FL, Edward and Joseph Buscemi of Mesquite. Esther's second marriage was to James Miskell and is survived by 3 sons, James of Chicago, Robert of Mesquite, and Donald Miskell of Pahrump, NV. She is survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three sisters, Alice Brown and Shirley Clark of Chicago, and Gladys Clark of White Hall, AR. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Esther was a hard worker all of her life. Later in life she graduated from Roosevelt University and was the first female Real Estate Business Owner in Chicago. Following this at the age of 58 she went to work for the VA Hospital as a pharmacy assistant, where she eventually retired at the age of 72. She fulfilled her dream of retiring in sunny Mesquite with her two sons, Edward and Joseph. Esther embraced her new found Mesquite family including all her bingo friends for life. Her final request is being fulfilled as she is laid to rest in her much loved Mesquite. Esther was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Joseph Buscemi and James Miskell; and grandson, Robert Miskell. Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 E. Old Mill Rd. Mesquite. Interment took place at the Mesquite Cemetery.
